Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and deliver engaging swim lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels (toddlers, children, adults).
- Ensure the safety of all participants at all times, adhering strictly to established safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Demonstrate and instruct proper swimming techniques, including stroke development, breathing, and water safety skills.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, tracking their progress and celebrating their achievements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool deck and instructional area.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and any concerns.
- Act as a positive role model, fostering an encouraging and fun learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
- Assist with equipment setup and breakdown as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a swim instructor, preferably with various age groups.
- Valid Lifeguard certification (e.g., DLRG Rettungsschwimmabzeichen Silber or equivalent).
- Valid First Aid certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Strong understanding of water safety principles and rescue techniques.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
- Fluency in German (B2 level or higher) is essential for effective communication with students and parents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific certifications in teaching young children or competitive swimming.
- Experience working in a professional aquatic facility or swim school.
- Knowledge of multiple swimming strokes and advanced techniques.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
