Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care, assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility during night hours.
- Monitor and record residents' vital signs, escalating any changes or concerns to the senior nurse promptly.
- Support residents with nutritional and hydration needs, including providing snacks and drinks.
- Assist with safe transfers and repositioning, utilizing appropriate equipment.
- Administer medication according to individual care plans, post-training and authorization.
- Respond efficiently to call bells and emergency situations, ensuring resident safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date care documentation and contribute to handover reports.
- Engage residents in meaningful interactions, offering companionship and emotional support.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for residents.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Health Care Assistant, preferably with night shift experience.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to report concerns effectively.
- Basic IT skills for accurate record-keeping.
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or complex needs.
- First Aid certificate.
- Medication administration training.
