Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Supervise children during playtime, educational activities, meal times, and nap times, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support lead practitioners in maintaining a clean, organised, and stimulating learning environment.
- Assist with personal care routines, including feeding, changing nappies, and promoting good hygiene practices.
- Observe and report on children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns to senior staff.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all safeguarding policies, health and safety regulations, and nursery procedures.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable passion for working with children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of child development stages.
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Early Years Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a nursery, school, or childcare setting.
- Up-to-date First Aid certification (Paediatric First Aid highly desirable).
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
