Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver and pick up various packages and documents within designated routes.
- Efficiently plan and follow the most optimized routes for timely deliveries throughout the Gainesville area.
- Verify accurate package counts and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery, maintaining precise records.
- Maintain clear, professional, and courteous communication with dispatch, customers, and team members at all times.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, promptly reporting any maintenance needs or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety regulations, and delivery protocols to ensure safety and compliance.
- Handle all packages with utmost care, ensuring their integrity and security from pickup to final delivery.
- Assist with the efficient loading and unloading of packages from the delivery vehicle as required.
- Resolve minor delivery issues or customer inquiries professionally and escalate complex problems to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (minimum 3 years driving experience required for insurance purposes).
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and safely.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to punctuality.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage a delivery route efficiently.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and adapt to changing conditions.
- Basic communication skills for professional interaction with customers and colleagues.
- Must be 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the USA.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not strictly required.
- Familiarity with Gainesville city streets and surrounding areas is a plus, but not essential.
