Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle for local deliveries and logistics tasks within Ocho Rios and surrounding areas.
- Transport goods and materials to various destinations following scheduled routes and timelines.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and expenses.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other operational tasks as needed during periods of low delivery volume.
- Maintain cleanliness of the company vehicle, both interior and exterior.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Class B, C, or equivalent for light/medium commercial vehicles)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years
- Proven ability to navigate efficiently using maps, GPS, and local knowledge of Ocho Rios
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good physical stamina, capable of lifting and moving packages up to 50 lbs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience (1+ years) as a professional driver or in a logistics role
- Familiarity with various delivery routes and landmarks within Ocho Rios and Saint Ann Parish
- Experience operating delivery vans or small trucks
- Customer service experience in a delivery or face-to-face setting
