Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for regulatory compliance and a commitment to upholding ethical financial practices? TD Bank Group is seeking a dedicated Financial Compliance Assistant to join our dynamic and growing compliance team. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from your home office while contributing to the integrity of our financial operations across Canada. As a Financial Compliance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our compliance officers and legal teams, ensuring that our banking activities adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will be instrumental in maintaining a robust compliance framework, helping to mitigate risks, and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks, from conducting in-depth research on regulatory changes to assisting with the preparation of compliance reports and training materials. You will collaborate closely with various business units, providing essential support in implementing compliance programs and responding to regulatory inquiries. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research, interpretation, and application of financial regulations, laws, and internal policies.
  • Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and filings to relevant authorities.
  • Maintain and update compliance documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct initial reviews of transactions, customer accounts, and internal processes for compliance with AML/ATF, privacy, and other regulations.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training materials for employees.
  • Collaborate with compliance officers and business units to implement new compliance initiatives.
  • Help respond to internal and external audit requests and regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and industry best practices to identify potential impacts on the business.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the compliance team, including scheduling, record-keeping, and communication.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial services or regulatory environment.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian financial regulations (e.g., PCMLTFA, OSFI guidelines, privacy laws).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Compliance (e.g., CAMS, CCOP) or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with compliance software and database systems.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
