Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods.
  • Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes and schedules for local and regional distribution, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
  • Liaise effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, suppliers, and customers to resolve any logistical issues promptly.
  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, invoices, and customs paperwork.
  • Monitor performance metrics for warehouse and delivery operations, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Utilize logistics software and tracking systems to track shipments and provide real-time updates.
  • Assist in negotiating rates with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize transportation costs.
  • Implement and enforce quality control standards for goods handling and storage.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain coordination.
  • Proven experience with inventory management and stock control systems.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Valid Jamaican driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or specialized logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS).
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures and customs clearance processes in Jamaica.
  • Certification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCMP, APICS).
