Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality 2D and/or 3D animations for various projects, including character, object, and environmental animation.
- Collaborate closely with creative teams, including designers, artists, and developers, to define and execute animation styles and visions.
- Create storyboards and animatics to visualize and plan complex animation sequences and obtain stakeholder approval.
- Design and animate characters, objects, and environments, ensuring adherence to artistic direction and project specifications.
- Ensure all animations meet technical requirements for different platforms and optimize them for performance where necessary.
- Iterate on animations based on feedback from directors and team members, maintaining a consistently high standard of quality.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging software, and advanced animation techniques to continuously enhance our capabilities.
- Assist in rigging, skinning, and preparing 3D assets for animation, ensuring optimal functionality and aesthetic quality.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D, Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe After Effects).
- Strong understanding and practical application of the 12 principles of animation (timing, spacing, anticipation, squash & stretch, etc.).
- Demonstrable experience with character animation, rigging, and motion graphics production.
- Excellent eye for detail, visual composition, and the ability to tell stories effectively through movement.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- A strong online portfolio showcasing diverse animation projects and technical skills.
- Fluency in English for effective communication within our international team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Digital Media, or a closely related field.
- Experience with real-time animation engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) for animation tools and pipeline automation.
- Experience with motion capture data integration and cleanup.
- Familiarity with visual effects (VFX) techniques and software.
- German language skills are considered a significant advantage for local team interaction.
