Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Monitoring & Evaluation Analyst with a strong focus on Field Data to join our growing team in Boston Spa, Leeds. This pivotal role is ideal for an individual passionate about transforming raw field data into actionable insights that drive program effectiveness and strategic decision-making for our diverse range of clients across various sectors. You will be instrumental in the end-to-end management of M&E activities, from the initial design and implementation of robust M&E frameworks to the development of sophisticated data collection tools and the comprehensive analysis of findings. Your expertise will cover the entire data lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and reliability from acquisition in the field through to final reporting.

A significant part of your responsibility will involve direct engagement with field operations. This means understanding the intricate challenges of data collection in diverse environments, implementing innovative solutions to enhance data quality, and providing hands-on technical guidance and capacity building to field staff. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and beneficiaries, acting as a bridge between data and tangible outcomes. Your role requires not only strong analytical prowess but also exceptional communication skills to translate complex data findings into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) plans and frameworks, with a strong emphasis on field data collection methodologies.
  • Develop and deploy robust data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO) for primary data gathering in field settings.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of field-collected data through rigorous data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative data analysis using statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, STATA) to generate actionable insights.
  • Prepare comprehensive M&E reports, dashboards, and presentations, effectively communicating findings, lessons learned, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and capacity building to field teams on data collection protocols, tool usage, and data quality standards.
  • Regularly monitor project progress against established indicators and targets, identifying variances and contributing to adaptive management strategies.
  • Participate in client meetings and workshops to present M&E findings, facilitate discussions, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and innovations in M&E, data analytics, and field research methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in Monitoring & Evaluation, with significant exposure to field data collection and management.
  • Proficiency in designing and deploying digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO).
  • Strong analytical skills, including expertise in statistical analysis and data visualisation.
  • Advanced proficiency with statistical software packages (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, STATA, Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel for field assignments as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with GIS software for spatial data analysis.
  • Familiarity with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
  • Project management certification or experience managing M&E projects.
  • Prior experience in consulting or working with diverse client portfolios.
