As a Tutor with Career.zycto, you will have the unique opportunity to tailor your teaching approach to individual student needs, whether delivering engaging one-to-one sessions in-person within the Beeston area or conducting interactive virtual lessons from the comfort of your home. This role offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing you to manage your own schedule and caseload, creating a perfect balance with other commitments. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, personalised one-to-one tuition to students, both in-person (within Beeston, Leeds) and online, adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and paces.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and educational materials that align with curriculum standards and student objectives.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to students and, where appropriate, parents/guardians.
- Set clear learning goals and work collaboratively with students to achieve them, fostering independent learning skills.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and lesson content for each student.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and Career.zycto administrative staff.
- Stay updated with curriculum changes and best practices in educational delivery, continuously enhancing your teaching repertoire.
- Ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment, adhering strictly to safeguarding policies and professional conduct guidelines.
- Manage your own schedule efficiently, ensuring timely attendance for all booked sessions and prompt communication regarding any changes.
- Motivate and encourage students, building their confidence, resilience, and helping them overcome academic challenges with a positive attitude.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching a specific subject area
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of relevant curriculum standards (e.g., KS2, GCSE, A-Level)
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for education
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms and tools (for online sessions)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or higher qualification in your specialist subject area
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Experience in preparing students for specific examinations (e.g., 11+, GCSE, A-Level)
