In this demanding yet highly rewarding role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This includes everything from preparing installation sites and mounting racking systems to installing solar panels, connecting electrical components, and ensuring all systems meet stringent safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently install solar panel systems on residential and commercial rooftops and ground mounts.
- Assemble and install racking systems, modules, inverters, and other balance of system components.
- Perform basic electrical wiring and connection of solar arrays to inverters and main service panels, under supervision of a licensed electrician where applicable.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, codes, and best practices, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct site preparation, including minor roofing work, trenching, and ground mount assembly.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to solar system installation.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship, precision, and adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, project managers, and clients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper handling and disposal of materials.
- Provide clear and concise communication regarding project progress and potential challenges.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Solar Panel Installer or in a similar construction/roofing role (minimum 2 years).
- Demonstrable knowledge of PV system components and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PV installation, electrical safety).
- Experience with different types of roofing materials and structures.
- Basic knowledge of German language for effective communication on site.
