As a Rehabilitation Consultant, you will engage directly with clients, conducting comprehensive assessments to understand their needs, challenges, and goals. You will then meticulously develop, implement, and monitor personalized rehabilitation plans, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and employers. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical, psychological, social, vocational, and educational needs.
- Develop individualized rehabilitation plans (IRP) in collaboration with clients and their families.
- Coordinate and monitor the delivery of rehabilitation services, including medical, therapeutic, vocational, and educational interventions.
- Provide counseling and support to clients to facilitate adjustment to disability and promote personal growth.
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to appropriate services, resources, and benefits.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and prepare detailed reports.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, employers, insurance companies, and community organizations.
- Facilitate return-to-work programs and provide job placement assistance.
- Stay abreast of current rehabilitation practices, legislation, and resources.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation plans and make necessary adjustments.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or equivalent professional licensure/certification (e.g., in Germany).
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in rehabilitation counseling or case management.
- Strong understanding of disability management, vocational assessment, and return-to-work strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and empathetic listening skills.
- Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a diverse caseload.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations and disabilities.
- Knowledge of local German social security and rehabilitation systems.
- Experience with psychometric testing and interpretation.
- Additional certifications in areas such as vocational assessment or life care planning.
