Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of care assistants, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Oversee the implementation and review of individual care plans, ensuring they meet residents' needs.
- Ensure compliance with all CQC regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain high standards of person-centred care, dignity, and respect.
- Manage daily rotas and staffing levels to ensure adequate cover.
- Conduct regular supervisions and appraisals for care staff.
- Handle resident and family concerns, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Assist with medication management and administration, adhering to strict protocols.
- Participate in training and development initiatives for care staff.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of care services.
- Act as a point of contact during shifts, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Required Skills
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in a care home setting, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Comprehensive understanding of CQC standards and regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in creating and reviewing care plans.
- Empathetic and compassionate approach to care.
- IT literacy for record-keeping and administrative tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Health and Social Care.
- Experience with specialist care, e.g., dementia care, palliative care.
- First Aid at Work certification.
