Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Guards for a pivotal role ensuring the safety and security of premises within the vibrant Headingley Stadium complex in Leeds. This is a full-time position requiring comprehensive day and night shift coverage, critical for maintaining a secure environment around the clock. You will be an integral part of a team committed to proactive security measures, rapid response to incidents, and providing a reassuring presence for visitors, staff, and assets.

As a Security Guard, you will be on the front lines, acting as the visible deterrent against unauthorised access, theft, and vandalism. Your role extends beyond surveillance; it encompasses diligent patrols, meticulous report writing, and effective communication with various stakeholders. We are looking for individuals with a keen eye for detail, excellent observational skills, and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, ensuring all areas are secure.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and alarm panels, responding promptly to any alerts or suspicious activities.
  • Control access points, verifying credentials of personnel, contractors, and visitors entering and exiting the site.
  • Deter and report any unauthorised entry, theft, vandalism, or other security breaches according to established protocols.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or security threats, coordinating with emergency services where necessary.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Provide a visible security presence, offering assistance and information to visitors and staff when needed, while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Enforce site rules and regulations to maintain a safe and orderly environment for all occupants.
  • Collaborate effectively with site management, event organisers, emergency services, and other security personnel.
  • Conduct bag searches and vehicle inspections as required by site policy and security protocols.

Required Skills

  • Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor and/or Security Guard) is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in a security role, preferably within a stadium, large public venue, or corporate environment.
  • Excellent observational skills and a keen eye for detail to identify potential risks or suspicious behaviour.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction and report writing.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-pressure or challenging situations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security protocols, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Proficiency in using CCTV and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Basic first aid knowledge (certification preferred).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a rotational schedule.
  • Physical fitness to perform duties including extended periods of standing, walking, and patrolling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced First Aid or Emergency Response certification.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
  • Knowledge of local area emergency services and procedures.
  • Proficiency in report writing software and digital logging systems.
  • Full UK driving license with access to own transport.
