Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel within the assigned unit, promoting a culture of teamwork and professional development.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols and standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Manage unit staffing, including scheduling, attendance, and workload distribution, to ensure optimal coverage and efficient operations.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate ongoing education for nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, other department heads, and ancillary staff to ensure seamless patient transitions and coordinated care.
- Manage the unit's budget, monitoring expenditures and identifying opportunities for cost-efficiency without compromising care quality.
- Address and resolve patient and family concerns, staff conflicts, and operational issues promptly and effectively.
- Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Valid German Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligibility for reciprocity).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse nursing team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient safety standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Fluency in German (C1 level minimum) and English (B2 level minimum).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in nursing leadership or a relevant clinical specialty.
- Previous experience as a Unit Manager or equivalent in a large hospital setting.
- Proven track record of successful budget management and resource optimization.
- Experience with Magnet Recognition Program standards (if applicable to the partner facility).
