Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Concierge to join our dynamic team at Holiday Inn Mauritius Airport. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for many of our guests, serving as a trusted resource for information, bookings, and personalized support. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance the guest experience by providing impeccable service, accurate recommendations, and efficient management of various guest requests. This includes everything from arranging transportation and making restaurant reservations to organizing local excursions and providing comprehensive information about Mauritius. The ideal candidate will possess an innate ability to anticipate guest needs, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure. You will play a crucial role in upholding our hotel’s reputation for outstanding customer service and ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and delightful stay with us. This role requires a proactive individual who is passionate about hospitality and dedicated to delivering a superior guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet all guests and visitors, offering assistance and information with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Handle all guest inquiries and requests efficiently, providing accurate and helpful information about hotel services, local attractions, dining, transportation, and events.
- Manage and confirm reservations for restaurants, tours, transportation (taxis, car rentals), and other services as requested by guests.
- Maintain an updated and comprehensive knowledge base of local area attractions, cultural events, entertainment venues, and dining options.
- Assist guests with luggage handling and storage, coordinating with bell staff as needed.
- Process mail, packages, and messages for guests, ensuring timely delivery.
- Resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and effectively, escalating to management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting concierge desk area.
- Keep detailed records of all guest requests and services provided.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably as a Concierge or Guest Relations Agent.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) in English and French.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a guest-centric approach.
- Proficiency in using hotel management systems (PMS) and standard office software.
- Excellent knowledge of local attractions, culture, dining, and transportation options in Mauritius.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., German, Mandarin) is a strong asset.
- Previous experience working in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
