Job Description

Vale’s Sudbury operations are seeking a dedicated Project Tracking Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of our complex mining and industrial projects by providing robust tracking, analysis, and reporting. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and various stakeholders to monitor project progress, identify potential deviations from baselines, and facilitate timely, data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules and progress curves using industry-standard project management software.
- Track and monitor project progress against established baselines, identifying variances in scope, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc project reports, including progress summaries, critical path analysis, and forecast-to-complete estimations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project data, validate information, and ensure data accuracy.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into causes of deviation, recommending corrective actions to project teams.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project control procedures and best practices.
- Support the project team in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning related to schedule and cost.
- Manage and organize project documentation, ensuring all data is current, accessible, and compliant with company standards.
- Facilitate regular project review meetings, preparing agendas, minutes, and tracking action items.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data visualization).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
