Job Description
Are you meticulous, organized, and have a keen eye for detail? Avani Maseru Hotel is seeking a dedicated and energetic Laundry Attendant to join our dynamic Housekeeping team. In this pivotal full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and care for all hotel linens, including bedding, towels, and tablecloths, as well as handling guest laundry services and staff uniforms. Your work is fundamental to the seamless operation of our hotel and directly impacts our guests’ comfort and satisfaction, ensuring they experience the freshness and pristine quality synonymous with the Avani brand. You will skillfully operate commercial laundry equipment, including industrial washers, dryers, and sophisticated ironing machines, handling a variety of fabrics with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong commitment to health and safety regulations, including the proper handling of chemicals and machinery, as well as a proactive approach to maintaining a clean, sanitary, and well-organized laundry facility at all times. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and physically capable individual, able to lift moderate weights and stand for extended periods, thriving in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and clean commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironers.
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, fold, and store all hotel linens, guest laundry, and staff uniforms.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or required mending before and after washing.
- Handle different types of fabrics and garments according to specific care instructions.
- Ensure efficient use of water, energy, and laundry detergents, adhering to sustainability practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry facility, storage areas, and equipment.
- Monitor laundry supplies inventory and report low stock levels to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Assist with other housekeeping duties as required, supporting the overall team effort.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to operate laundry machinery (commercial or industrial experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
