As a Greenhouse Worker, you will be immersed in a world of living green, performing essential tasks that maintain optimal growing conditions for a diverse range of plant species. This includes precise watering schedules, applying nutrients, and ensuring proper light exposure. You’ll be instrumental in the planting of seeds and seedlings, careful transplanting as plants mature, and the meticulous pruning required to promote healthy growth and maximize yields. Your day might also involve harvesting various produce or flowers, ensuring they meet quality standards before preparation for market. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily watering, fertilizing, and general care for a wide variety of plants.
- Assist with planting, transplanting, pruning, and harvesting crops according to established schedules and procedures.
- Monitor plants for signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies and report findings to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse, including workspaces and common areas.
- Operate basic horticultural tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare plants for shipping, including packaging and labeling.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of irrigation systems and environmental controls.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
