Job Description

Are you a highly analytical and experienced Reservoir Engineer seeking an opportunity to shape the future of energy production? Career.zycto is actively seeking a talented individual to join our growing team in Beuel, Bonn. This full-time position offers a unique chance to apply your advanced reservoir engineering skills to diverse, complex projects across various basins and geological settings. You will be instrumental in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery, enhancing asset value, and developing innovative solutions for our clients.

At Career.zycto, you won’t just run simulations; you’ll interpret complex data, develop robust reservoir models, and provide critical insights that directly influence strategic decisions. We are looking for someone who can combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, translating intricate subsurface analyses into actionable recommendations. Your work will involve detailed reservoir characterization, performance forecasting, and the evaluation of various development scenarios, including enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques and CO2 sequestration projects.

You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams including geoscientists, petrophysicists, and production engineers, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and integrated problem-solving. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying new technologies and methodologies to improve reservoir performance prediction and management. We value clarity in communication, the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of reservoir engineering and eager to contribute to impactful projects in a supportive and innovative setting, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed reservoir characterization and modeling using geological, geophysical, and production data.
  • Conduct reservoir simulation studies for performance forecasting, reserves estimation, and optimization of field development plans.
  • Evaluate various development scenarios, including infill drilling, waterflooding, gas injection, and other EOR techniques.
  • Analyze production data, pressure transients, and fluid properties to monitor reservoir performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations, communicating complex results and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (geoscientists, petrophysicists, production engineers) to integrate subsurface understanding.
  • Support economic evaluations of projects by providing robust production forecasts and risk assessments.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and software advancements in reservoir engineering.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in commercial reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG, Petrel RE, Intersect).
  • Expertise in reservoir characterization, modeling, and performance forecasting.
  • In-depth understanding of fluid flow in porous media, material balance, and decline curve analysis.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including production data analysis and interpretation of well tests.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data processing and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with unconventional reservoirs (e.g., shale gas, tight oil).
  • Familiarity with economic evaluation software (e.g., PEEP, Merak).
  • Knowledge of CO2 sequestration or geothermal projects.
  • Ability to speak German is a plus.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
  • Generous paid time off and flexible working arrangements.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development and training.
