Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking talented and passionate freelance Photographers specializing in both event and commercial work to join our growing network of professionals in Buff Bay, Portland, Jamaica. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of visual narrative, and the technical proficiency to capture high-quality imagery across a diverse range of assignments. As a freelance photographer with Career.zycto, you will be responsible for documenting various events – from corporate gatherings and community festivals to private celebrations – ensuring every significant moment is captured with artistry and precision. Beyond events, you will also undertake commercial projects, including product photography, corporate headshots, architectural shots, and lifestyle imagery for marketing and branding purposes.
We are looking for a self-motivated professional who can manage projects from conception to completion, including client consultations, on-site execution, and meticulous post-production. You must possess a strong portfolio demonstrating your versatility and expertise in both dynamic event settings and meticulously composed commercial environments. The ideal candidate will be adept at utilizing various lighting techniques, understanding composition, and employing advanced editing software to deliver polished, professional results that exceed client expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand project requirements, creative vision, and delivery expectations for both event and commercial shoots.
- Plan and execute photography sessions, including scouting locations, setting up lighting and equipment, and directing subjects as needed.
- Capture high-quality, impactful images at various events (e.g., conferences, weddings, concerts, community gatherings) and for commercial purposes (e.g., product, lifestyle, corporate).
- Utilize a professional-grade camera, lenses, and other photographic equipment to achieve desired artistic and technical results.
- Perform extensive post-production work, including culling, color correction, retouching, and cropping, using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Deliver final edited images in specified formats and within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Maintain and organize photographic equipment, ensuring it is always in excellent working condition.
- Develop and maintain a strong professional relationship with clients, ensuring their satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and equipment to continually enhance photographic skills and offerings.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an event and commercial photographer with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency with professional DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment.
- Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for image editing and retouching.
- Strong understanding of photographic principles, including composition, exposure, and lighting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and subjects.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various locations within Buff Bay and surrounding areas.
- Business acumen suitable for managing freelance assignments and client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing is a plus.
- Familiarity with drone photography for aerial shots.
- Membership in professional photography associations.
