Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
  • Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders as needed.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering mental and emotional well-being.
  • Accompany clients to appointments or outings, providing safe transportation and support.
  • Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behavior to the appropriate supervisory staff.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
  • Adhere strictly to care plans, policies, and procedures set by Career.zycto and regulatory bodies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in caregiving or a related field (e.g., personal support worker, healthcare aide).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid G driver's license.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain one).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent relevant healthcare training.
  • Experience working with clients with diverse needs, including dementia, mobility challenges, or chronic conditions.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
  • Previous experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
