Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders as needed.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering mental and emotional well-being.
- Accompany clients to appointments or outings, providing safe transportation and support.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behavior to the appropriate supervisory staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
- Adhere strictly to care plans, policies, and procedures set by Career.zycto and regulatory bodies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in caregiving or a related field (e.g., personal support worker, healthcare aide).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation and a valid G driver's license.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent relevant healthcare training.
- Experience working with clients with diverse needs, including dementia, mobility challenges, or chronic conditions.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
- Previous experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
