As an Occupational Therapy Assistant with Career.zycto, you will work closely under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist, assisting in the implementation of personalized treatment plans. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring proper technique and safety.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting observations and any changes in condition to the supervising OT.
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies, and home exercise programs.
- Prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment, and ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Provide hands-on assistance to patients with daily living activities (ADLs) as per treatment goals.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, managing client records, and coordinating care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussions to optimize patient outcomes.
- Adhere to all professional, ethical, and safety standards and guidelines.

Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong empathy and compassion for patients of all ages and abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated willingness and eagerness to learn and adapt to new concepts and techniques
- Physical ability to assist patients with transfers and therapeutic exercises
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer or paid experience in a healthcare setting
- Completion of post-secondary courses related to health sciences, psychology, or kinesiology
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
