Job Description

Career.zycto is actively recruiting for a dedicated and physically capable Roughneck to contribute to our drilling operations in Neckarstadt, Mannheim. As a Roughneck, you will be an integral part of our drilling crew, playing a critical role in the safe and efficient execution of projects. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position that requires exceptional teamwork, strict adherence to safety protocols, and a strong work ethic.

Your day-to-day will involve a variety of hands-on tasks, working closely with drillers and other crew members to ensure the smooth operation of the drilling rig. You’ll be responsible for handling heavy equipment, maintaining the drill site, and assisting with all aspects of drilling, from setting up to breaking down. This role is not for the faint of heart; it requires significant physical stamina, mental toughness, and a commitment to working in diverse weather conditions and often challenging environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of drilling equipment and tools.
  • Handle and position drill pipes, casings, and other drilling tools safely and efficiently.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of manual and power tools and machinery under supervision.
  • Ensure the drilling area is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform heavy lifting, carrying, and other physically demanding tasks as required.
  • Support drillers and other crew members in all aspects of drilling operations.
  • Inspect equipment for wear and tear, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labor.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to workplace safety protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools.
  • Capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher) for effective communication within the team and with local regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in drilling, construction, heavy industry, or similar physically demanding roles.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., first aid, confined space entry, working at heights).
  • Forklift operator's license or other heavy equipment certifications.
  • Technical vocational training in a relevant field.
