Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to residents during evening and night shifts, assisting with personal care, mobility, and emotional support as required.
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans and company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Conduct regular welfare checks throughout the night, monitoring residents' well-being and promptly responding to any emerging needs or concerns.
- Maintain detailed and accurate care records, incident reports, and communication logs, ensuring smooth handover to day staff.
- Implement and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and protection of all residents.
- Assist with light household duties and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the living environment during quieter periods.
- Support residents with bedtime routines and ensure a peaceful, calm atmosphere conducive to rest and sleep.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a care or support role, preferably with evening or night shift experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- A compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach to care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and responsibility.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to respond effectively to challenging situations.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Current First Aid certification.
- Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (desirable for some locations).
