As an Evening Shift Support Worker, you will be integral to maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive environment throughout the night. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support to residents during evening and night shifts, assisting with personal care, mobility, and emotional support as required.
  • Administer medication in accordance with care plans and company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Conduct regular welfare checks throughout the night, monitoring residents' well-being and promptly responding to any emerging needs or concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate care records, incident reports, and communication logs, ensuring smooth handover to day staff.
  • Implement and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and protection of all residents.
  • Assist with light household duties and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the living environment during quieter periods.
  • Support residents with bedtime routines and ensure a peaceful, calm atmosphere conducive to rest and sleep.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a care or support role, preferably with evening or night shift experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach to care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and responsibility.
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to respond effectively to challenging situations.
  • Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (desirable for some locations).
