Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Care Coordinator to join our compassionate team in Meadowbank, Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the night care team, delegating duties effectively and ensuring optimal staffing levels.
- Oversee the administration and recording of medication, adhering strictly to company policies and relevant guidelines.
- Conduct regular rounds, monitoring residents' well-being and responding promptly to any changes in their condition or emergencies.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive care records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Provide hands-on personal care to residents as required, maintaining their dignity and promoting independence.
- Act as a primary point of contact for families and external healthcare professionals during the night shift.
- Ensure the safety and security of the care home environment throughout the night, including emergency preparedness and response.
- Undertake continuous professional development to enhance clinical skills and leadership capabilities, staying abreast of best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior care role, preferably within a residential or nursing home setting.
- SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent understanding of care standards, regulatory guidelines (e.g., Care Inspectorate Scotland), and safeguarding principles.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to administer medication safely and accurately.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and care plan documentation.
- Enhanced PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Night Care Coordinator or Senior Care Assistant specifically on night shifts.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience with electronic care planning systems and digital record management.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services in Edinburgh.
