Job Description
Alliance Insurance Company is seeking a diligent and proactive Office Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Ha Seoli, Maseru. This vital role is central to ensuring our office environment remains pristine, functional, and safe for all employees and visitors. As an Office Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of our premises, performing a variety of tasks ranging from general cleaning and minor repairs to assisting with office setup and inventory management. You will be a key player in maintaining a professional and comfortable workspace, directly contributing to the smooth operation of our business and the well-being of our staff. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, and sanitizing restrooms and kitchen areas.
- Execute minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, tightening loose fixtures, and painting touch-ups.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of all common areas, meeting rooms, and individual office spaces.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling programs in accordance with company policies.
- Assist with office furniture setup, rearrangement, and relocation as needed.
- Monitor and replenish office supplies, cleaning materials, and restroom consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Conduct regular inspections of the office premises to identify maintenance needs and report larger issues to the Facilities Manager.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Support security efforts by locking and unlocking designated areas and reporting any unusual activities.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties related to office maintenance and support as assigned by management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in office cleaning or maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 kg).
- Basic communication skills to interact with staff and report issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical) is a plus.
- Previous experience in a corporate or office environment.
