You will be responsible for a diverse portfolio of accounts, engaging directly with individuals and businesses to resolve payment issues through negotiation, education, and the establishment of fair payment plans. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume portfolio of delinquent accounts, proactively engaging debtors through various communication channels (phone, email, mail).
- Negotiate and establish realistic payment plans with debtors, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal guidelines.
- Accurately document all communication, actions, and payment arrangements within the company's collection software and CRM system.
- Adhere strictly to all relevant collection laws and regulations (e.g., German debt collection laws, data protection regulations).
- Conduct skip tracing activities to locate debtors as necessary, utilizing available resources responsibly and ethically.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional and empathetic approach, even in challenging situations.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal and client service departments, to resolve complex account issues.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in debt collection or a similar financial recovery role.
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and active listening skills.
- Strong understanding of German debt collection laws and ethical collection practices.
- Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- High level of empathy, patience, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Competency in using CRM software and standard office applications (MS Office Suite).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities effectively.
