As a Youth Care Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the daily lives of the young people under our care. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and support to young people in a residential setting.
  • Assist young people with daily routines, including personal care, meal times, and bedtime.
  • Organise and facilitate engaging recreational, educational, and social activities.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting healthy social interactions and conflict resolution.
  • Support young people in developing independent living skills (e.g., cooking, cleaning, budgeting).
  • Maintain accurate records and incident reports in line with organisational policies.
  • Administer medication as required, following strict protocols and training.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals (e.g., social workers, teachers).
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all young people, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience (personal or professional) working with children or young people.
  • A qualification in Health & Social Care (e.g., SVQ Level 2/3) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding policies.
