Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of care assistants, ensuring adherence to best practices and company policies.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans, tailoring them to the evolving needs and preferences of each resident.
- Conduct regular assessments of residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns to relevant healthcare professionals.
- Administer medication in accordance with prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.
- Act as a primary point of contact for residents' families, addressing concerns and providing updates on care and progress.
- Ensure all care documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Participate in staff training and development, identifying areas for improvement within the care team.
- Oversee daily care activities, ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for all residents.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, and other daily living activities as needed, leading by example.
- Manage and resolve day-to-day operational issues within the care setting.
Required Skills
- SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an elderly care setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in creating and reviewing care plans
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safe handling procedures
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Enhanced PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme membership
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid certification
- Dementia care qualification or specialised training
- Experience with electronic care planning systems
- Full UK driving licence
