Job Description

Domaine des Aubineaux is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Waitress to join our esteemed hospitality team in Curepipe. As a Waitress, you will be the face of our restaurant, playing a pivotal role in creating a delightful and seamless dining experience for all our guests. You will be responsible for warmly greeting customers, accurately taking food and beverage orders, and serving them with grace and efficiency. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation within the dining area, assist with setting up and clearing tables, and collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and seat guests upon their arrival, ensuring a pleasant first impression.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, ensuring all special requests and dietary restrictions are noted.
  • Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor dining tables to ensure guest satisfaction, promptly addressing any concerns or additional needs.
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently, maintaining a clean and inviting dining environment.
  • Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale system and handle cash or credit card transactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other service personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and wine list offerings.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards within the restaurant.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Waitress or in a similar hospitality role (minimum 6 months).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and calculating bills.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a fine dining establishment or high-volume restaurant.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques and etiquette.
  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French, Creole) would be an advantage.
  • A diploma or certification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
