Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality control reviews of corporate processes, transactions, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and document operational weaknesses, control gaps, and non-compliance issues, providing clear recommendations for remediation.
- Develop and implement testing methodologies and sampling strategies to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and operational procedures.
- Prepare detailed quality control reports, summarizing findings, root cause analysis, and proposed corrective actions for management review.
- Collaborate with business units, risk management, and compliance teams to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions and process enhancements.
- Participate in the development and enhancement of quality control frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on quality control best practices and procedural changes.
- Stay informed of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and internal policy updates relevant to corporate quality control.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in quality control, internal audit, risk management, or compliance within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, risk management principles, and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX, OSFI guidelines).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced level for data analysis).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designation such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), or similar.
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau) for quality control purposes.
- Familiarity with process mapping and business process re-engineering methodologies.
- Experience working with large datasets and complex financial systems.
- Project management experience or certification.
