Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle according to traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload packages with care, ensuring proper handling and security.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries using navigation tools.
- Utilize handheld scanning devices and tracking software to log deliveries and pickups.
- Verify delivery contents with recipients and obtain necessary signatures.
- Handle cash or card payments for deliveries as required, maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving License (Category B)
- Clean driving record with minimal points
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier (e.g., parcel delivery, food delivery)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong navigational abilities and familiarity with the local Litherland, Liverpool area
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg) safely
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for managing delivery logs and paperwork
