Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Health & Safety policies and procedures in alignment with local regulations and international standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits across the industrial estate to identify potential risks and implement effective control measures.
- Lead incident investigations, including near-misses, accidents, and occupational illnesses, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Design and deliver engaging Health & Safety training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors, fostering a strong safety-conscious culture.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant Jamaican occupational health and safety legislation (e.g., OSHA, Factories Act) and environmental protection guidelines.
- Manage the maintenance and regular inspection of all safety equipment, including PPE, fire extinguishers, and emergency systems.
- Develop and manage emergency response plans, including fire safety, chemical spills, and natural disaster protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all safety inspections, incidents, training, and compliance documentation.
- Advise management on best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in Health & Safety to continuously improve performance.
- Promote active employee participation in safety initiatives and committees.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in developing and implementing robust Health & Safety Management Systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Jamaican occupational health and safety legislation and environmental regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent international Health & Safety qualification.
- Membership in a recognized professional Health & Safety body (e.g., IOSH, ASSP).
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Experience working within heavy industrial, manufacturing, or logistics sectors.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Additional certifications in specialized safety areas (e.g., confined spaces, working at heights).
