Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Jamaica) Limited (RACJ) is seeking a motivated Part-Time HVAC Installation Aide to join our dynamic team in Walderston, Manchester. As an HVAC Installation Aide, you will be an integral part of our field operations, responsible for assisting with the setup of equipment, handling tools and materials, and ensuring job sites are prepared and kept clean. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead HVAC technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of various HVAC systems (e.g., split units, central air conditioning, ventilation systems).
  • Safely transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites, ensuring proper loading and unloading.
  • Prepare work areas by setting up ladders, scaffolding, protective coverings, and ensuring all safety precautions are in place.
  • Perform basic tasks such as cutting, drilling, fastening, and cleaning components under the guidance of a technician.
  • Help in the assembly and disassembly of ducts, vents, refrigeration lines, and other system parts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, company vehicles, and work sites before, during, and after projects.
  • Learn and strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.
  • Observe and learn from experienced technicians to understand system operations and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned to support project completion and team efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety practices.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent.
  • Prior experience (even informal) in a construction, trades, or manual labor environment.
  • Completion of a vocational course or certificate in plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance.
  • Valid Jamaican General Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC components and principles.
