You will manage the entire lifecycle of shipments, from initial booking and route optimization to customs clearance and final delivery. This involves close collaboration with a diverse network of carriers, agents, and customs officials, requiring sharp negotiation skills and an unwavering commitment to detail. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end international freight forwarding operations via air, sea, and road.
- Prepare, process, and manage all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, customs declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists).
- Liaise effectively with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth cargo flow and timely delivery.
- Ensure strict compliance with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and relevant Incoterms.
- Track and trace shipments, providing regular updates and proactive communication to clients regarding status and potential delays.
- Negotiate competitive rates with carriers and service providers to optimize cost-efficiency.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and claims efficiently and professionally.
- Provide expert advice to clients on shipping regulations, customs requirements, and optimal transport solutions.
- Maintain accurate records and utilize freight management software for operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in freight forwarding or international logistics.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international shipping procedures, documentation, and regulatory compliance (HMRC, Incoterms).
- Proficiency in freight management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
