Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and vigilant Maritime Patrol Assistant to join our dedicated night shift team in the Snelgrove, Brampton area. This critical role is essential for maintaining the safety and security of our maritime assets and perimeters during overnight hours. As a Maritime Patrol Assistant, you will be on the front lines, ensuring continuous surveillance and rapid response to any potential threats or incidents.

Working the night shift requires a unique blend of discipline, focus, and reliability. You will be responsible for conducting regular patrols of designated maritime areas, employing both observational skills and advanced security equipment to detect unusual activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular and thorough patrols of assigned maritime zones and adjacent land areas during night shifts.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV and sonar, for suspicious activities or breaches.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, escalating issues to senior personnel as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all patrol activities, observations, and incidents.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all security and patrol equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and external agencies during joint operations or emergencies.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal and written reports on shift activities.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness drills and respond to environmental concerns.
  • Conduct initial investigations into security breaches or incidents, securing evidence as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Excellent observational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night hours.
  • Basic computer proficiency for report writing and surveillance monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to react calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Physical fitness to perform patrol duties, including walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid G-class driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be eligible to work legally in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Previous experience in security, patrol, or a related field (e.g., military, law enforcement).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience with maritime operations or security equipment (e.g., marine radios, GPS).
  • Knowledge of local maritime regulations and environmental protection guidelines.
