Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, motivate, and mentor a team of care staff, ensuring high standards of care delivery.
  • Oversee daily residential care operations, including coordinating shifts and managing staff rotas.
  • Ensure person-centred care plans are implemented, monitored, and regularly reviewed to meet individual needs.
  • Act as a key liaison for residents, their families, and external professionals, maintaining clear communication.
  • Assist with resident assessments, admissions, and discharge processes.
  • Support the management team in maintaining regulatory compliance and upholding CQC standards.
  • Conduct regular supervisions and appraisals for care staff, identifying training needs and fostering professional growth.
  • Manage and administer medication safely and accurately, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Address and resolve resident and staff concerns or complaints efficiently and empathetically.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development programs.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in a care setting (e.g., Senior Carer, Team Leader, or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to emergencies.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and communication.
  • Understanding of care regulations and safeguarding principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Residential Care Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Knowledge of CQC regulations and best practices.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Medication administration training.
