Career.zycto is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Roof Installer specializing in both metal and wood roof assembly to join our growing team in Hartcliffe, Bristol. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and replace various roofing systems, specifically focusing on metal and wood frame assemblies.
  • Measure and cut roofing materials (e.g., metal panels, timber, shingles) to exact specifications.
  • Prepare roof surfaces by removing old roofing materials, debris, and inspecting underlying structures.
  • Ensure proper ventilation, insulation, and waterproofing on all roofing projects.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including drills, saws, and nail guns.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as local building codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of roofing systems.
  • Communicate project progress and potential issues to site supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in roof installation, particularly with metal and wood roofing systems.
  • Strong understanding of roofing materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Roofing or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with lead work and flashing installation.
  • Knowledge of sustainable roofing practices.
