Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Surveyor specializing in Land Mapping & Valuation to join a forward-thinking team in the Patchway, Bristol area. This pivotal role involves contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects, from initial land acquisition surveys to detailed valuation reports for commercial and residential developments. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed topographical and boundary surveys using advanced surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, Drones).
- Prepare comprehensive land maps, plans, and drawings using CAD software and GIS platforms.
- Perform property and land valuations for various purposes, including development appraisals, acquisitions, and disposals.
- Analyze market data, local planning policies, and economic trends to inform valuation reports.
- Produce clear, concise, and defensible valuation reports in line with RICS standards.
- Liaise with clients, developers, legal professionals, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
- Ensure all survey and valuation activities comply with relevant legislation and health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records and databases of survey data and valuation assignments.
- Provide expert advice and technical support on land-related matters.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in land surveying techniques and instrumentation (Total Station, GPS/GNSS).
- Strong command of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) and GIS applications (e.g., ArcGIS).
- Proven experience in land and property valuation, including development appraisals.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Thorough understanding of relevant UK planning laws and RICS Valuation – Global Standards (Red Book).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- RICS accreditation (MRICS or FRICS).
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Surveying, Geomatics, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Experience with drone-based surveying and photogrammetry.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles.
- Previous experience working on projects within the Bristol and South West region.
