Career.zycto invites dedicated and professional drivers to join our expanding logistics and delivery team in Naggo Head, Portmore. This pivotal full-time role involves operating company-owned vehicles to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods to our valued customers across various locations. As a Driver – Logistics & Delivery, you are more than just a transporter; you are a critical link in our supply chain, directly contributing to our reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for navigating assigned routes, meticulously loading and unloading cargo, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods.
- Accurately load, unload, and secure cargo, ensuring no damage during transit.
- Plan and execute delivery routes effectively to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any defects.
- Maintain precise delivery logs, manifests, and all necessary documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all Jamaican traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding deliveries.
- Handle delivery discrepancies or customer inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Keep company vehicles clean, tidy, and report any maintenance needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service, representing Career.zycto with professionalism.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaica)
- Demonstrably clean driving record
- Proficiency in defensive driving techniques
- Strong knowledge of Portmore and surrounding St. Catherine areas
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs / 23 kg)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctuality, reliability, and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Experience with GPS navigation and route optimization software
- Previous customer service experience in a delivery role
- First Aid and/or CPR certification
- Experience operating various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., panel vans, small trucks)
