Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and empathetic Homecare Supervisor to join our dedicated team in Nether Poppleton, York. As a Homecare Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing daily operations, supporting our care staff, conducting client assessments, and developing personalised care plans. Your leadership will ensure that our services are not only compliant with all regulatory standards but also exceed expectations, enhancing the well-being and independence of those we support. You will be the crucial link between our clients, their families, and our care team, fostering trust and open communication. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of homecare assistants, ensuring high morale and professional development.
  • Conduct initial client assessments, developing and reviewing personalised care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Perform regular quality assurance checks, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies.
  • Manage care worker rotas and schedules, optimising efficiency and ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, their families, and external healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of new care staff.
  • Address and resolve client and staff concerns effectively and sensitively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and administrative documentation.
  • Participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis as required.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in care delivery.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a supervisory or senior care role within homecare or a similar setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using care management software and general IT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Demonstrable empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services.
  • Experience with CQC inspections and compliance procedures.
  • Knowledge of local authority funding and assessment processes.
  • First Aid certification.
