Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the night care team, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring adherence to care plans and company policies.
- Administer medication safely and accurately, maintaining meticulous records in accordance with CQC regulations.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including resident falls, medical incidents, and challenging behaviours.
- Conduct regular rounds, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all residents throughout the night.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records, incident reports, and communication logs.
- Provide person-centred care, assisting residents with personal care, mobility, and other needs as required.
- Support new team members, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
- Facilitate effective communication during shift handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during the night shift.
- Ensure the care environment remains clean, tidy, and safe for residents and staff.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior care role, preferably with night shift experience
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in medication administration and management
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and best practice in adult social care
- Ability to work autonomously and make effective decisions under pressure
- IT literacy for record-keeping and communication
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care
- First Aid qualification
- Experience with electronic care planning systems
- Advanced dementia care training
