Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to customers within designated routes.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.
- Handle customer payments accurately and professionally when required.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Record delivery information, obtain necessary signatures, and manage delivery manifests.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or similar role (minimum 6 months).
- Strong knowledge of local routes and geography in York and surrounding areas.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Eligibility for UK Skilled Worker visa sponsorship (Career.zycto will assist with the process).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, electric vehicles).
