Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional, vigilant, and proactive Full-Time Building Security Officer to join our esteemed team at The Trident Hotel. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our guests, staff, and property, ensuring the serene and luxurious atmosphere for which we are known remains undisturbed. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including all buildings, grounds, and common areas, both internal and external.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to identify and address any suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Control access points, verify credentials, and manage visitor logs to ensure only authorized individuals enter the property.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and disturbances.
- Investigate security-related incidents, document findings thoroughly, and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Enforce hotel policies and procedures to ensure guest and staff safety and adherence to operational guidelines.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to guests and staff regarding security matters, directions, or other inquiries.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed during critical situations.
- Conduct routine checks of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and emergency exits.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with security best practices.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter potential threats and ensure a secure environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in security or a related field, preferably in hospitality or a similar luxury environment.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective under pressure.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Proficiency in monitoring security systems and operating surveillance equipment.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and a strong ethical compass.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Security Guard Certification or equivalent licensure in Jamaica.
