Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement telecommunication network solutions, including fiber optic, wireless, and IP-based systems.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering designs for new network deployments and upgrades.
- Perform configuration, testing, and commissioning of telecommunication equipment (routers, switches, radios, multiplexers, etc.).
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement proactive and reactive measures to ensure optimal network health and uptime.
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems related to network outages, performance degradation, and system failures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, IT professionals, and external vendors, to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay abreast of emerging telecommunication technologies, standards, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure all network activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other operational staff.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in designing, implementing, and maintaining telecommunication networks.
- Strong understanding of IP networking principles (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS) and routing/switching protocols.
- Proficiency with fiber optic communication systems, including installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with wireless communication technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, radio systems).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols (e.g., SNMP, Wireshark).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical documentation and team collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS-SP, or similar.
- Experience with satellite communication systems or specialized industrial communication protocols.
- Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher) is a significant advantage.
- Project management experience in a telecommunications context.
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
