Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians in performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach trucks, pallet jacks).
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults under direct supervision.
  • Support in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of forklift components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the workshop and on client sites.
  • Help manage inventory of parts and tools, ensuring availability for repair tasks.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Document maintenance activities and parts used accurately.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job status and challenges.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting and adjustments as directed by senior technicians.

  • Reliable transportation to the Bell Village, Port Louis facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a vocational certificate in mechanics or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience (even informal) with machinery, automotive repair, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems fundamentals.
  • A valid driving license.
