Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our robust team in Würzburg. This is a pivotal full-time role designed for an individual who thrives on ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of complex industrial machinery and systems. You will be at the forefront of our operational continuity, tasked with performing both preventative and reactive maintenance across our diverse manufacturing facility.

Your day-to-day will involve hands-on diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of mechanical equipment, ranging from pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to production lines. We are looking for someone who not only possesses exceptional technical proficiency but also a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate. You’ll work closely with production teams and other engineering disciplines to implement efficient solutions, minimize downtime, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, breakdowns, and inefficiencies using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Execute repairs, replacements, and overhauls of components such as bearings, seals, gearboxes, pumps, and valves.
  • Install, align, and test new mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and other maintenance teams to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to existing mechanical systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in the commissioning and decommissioning of plant equipment.

Required Skills

  • Completed vocational training as an Industrial Mechanic (Industriemechaniker), Mechatronics Technician, or similar.
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of various types of machinery, including conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills in German and/or English.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various industrial settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Further qualification (e.g., Meisterbrief) in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience with SAP PM or other CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Certification in welding (e.g., MAG, WIG) or other specialized mechanical skills.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques and tools.
  • Valid forklift and/or aerial work platform operator license.
