Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Renewable Energy Site Technician to join our growing team in Würzburg. This pivotal full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the renewable energy revolution, maintaining and optimizing critical infrastructure that powers communities. As a Site Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational integrity, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our diverse portfolio of renewable energy systems, including solar PV installations, wind turbines, and potentially biomass or hydropower facilities, depending on regional assets. Your expertise will ensure maximum uptime and efficiency, contributing directly to our mission of a sustainable future. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on various renewable energy systems (e.g., solar inverters, PV modules, wind turbine components, control systems).
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues using specialized equipment and schematics.
- Execute installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of renewable energy components and systems.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company procedures during all on-site operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inventory, and operational data.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and other technical teams to resolve complex issues and optimize system performance.
- Provide on-call support for emergency breakdowns as required, ensuring rapid response and resolution.
- Train and mentor junior technicians as opportunities arise.
- Ensure sites are kept clean, organized, and compliant with all relevant standards.
Required Skills
- Proven technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, preferably within renewable energy.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to high voltage electricity and working at heights.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic software and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in German (B2 level or higher) and English (technical understanding).
- Valid German driver's license (Class B).
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights).
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational degree or apprenticeship (e.g., Elektriker, Mechatroniker, Industriemechaniker) with a focus on renewable energy.
- Certifications relevant to renewable energy technologies (e.g., GWO Basic Safety Training for wind, solar PV installation certification).
- Experience with specific renewable energy technologies (e.g., SMA inverters, Siemens/Vestas wind turbines, SCADA systems).
- Familiarity with German energy regulations and grid codes (e.g., VDE, EEG).
- Prior experience working in an on-site field service role.
