Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor and operate multiple CCTV screens and surveillance systems with extreme diligence.
- Proactively detect, identify, and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential threats in real-time.
- Skillfully operate and manage CCTV system functions including pan, tilt, zoom, and digital recording equipment.
- Effectively liaise with on-site security personnel, law enforcement, and emergency services during critical incidents.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and comprehensive incident logs, reports, and evidential records.
- Adhere strictly to all data protection (GDPR) and privacy regulations, ensuring ethical surveillance practices.
- Conduct regular system checks, troubleshoot minor issues, and promptly report any faults or malfunctions.
- Assist in internal and external investigations by meticulously reviewing footage and extracting relevant information.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, alerts, and other security notifications.
- Ensure all monitoring activities are conducted professionally, ethically, and in accordance with company policies.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA CCTV Public Surveillance Licence (or willingness to obtain before start date).
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) as a CCTV Operator or in a similar surveillance role.
- Exceptional observational skills and unwavering attention to detail.
- Strong ability to concentrate for extended periods, even under pressure.
- Proficiency in operating advanced CCTV monitoring software and equipment.
- Solid understanding of security procedures, protocols, and best practices.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting and liaison.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective during critical incidents.
- Basic IT literacy for incident logging, report generation, and system checks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, DPA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a control room or command center environment.
- First Aid certification.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Familiarity with various alarm systems and access control technologies.
